Hi guys!

It's with profound regret that I must inform you that our present Mun for Ginny has needed to leave the game for real-life stress-related reasons. At her request, Ginny has been returned to the Available Characters List.

Please remove littlest_weasel from your friends lists and please note that Seeking Ginny Weasley has been re-added to the application community side-bar links.

Can you believe it?

Over a year later, and Mating Rituals of Snakes and Lions is finally complete! This was the 'first date' thread started on 'bonfire night' of 2006, for anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about.

More over, for anyone who is really, really new to watching the game, Intellectual Curiosity Meets Irrational Desires is the lead-up thread from Severus' PoV that helps to describe how he 'got there from here' with numerous links to related threads through the course of the game.

Not, of course, that anyone has to read any of that stuff, but people often want to know how something started. It's not very natural just to 'jump into' stuff, and believe it or not this has been a long, long time in the build up and not even the initial/primary intent of the two Muns involved. :)

So... just wanted to let you know since there were a bunch of folks who used to watch that date-thread, a long, long time ago. *grin*

Cheers!
Lisa

We are constantly growing and expanding as we add new players with new ideas and fresh talent into the blend of our existing cast and friends!

Like all role-playing games, there are always areas of need or desire where a particularly talented person in a coveted role would especially enrich the game. New characters are always welcome, but there are two, specifically, which we are actively seeking just now:

Bellatrix Lestrange

Arthur Weasley

The links take you to descriptions of what we are seeking in these two important roles. If you know someone who is the best, most delciously evil Bellatrix you have ever seen/read, and they happen to be looking for a game to showcase their creativity, please send them our way!

Likewise, if you know someone who is the sweetest, most Muggle-loving if just a little bit odd Arthur Weasley you have ever known, and they are looking for someplace to house Arthur where almost all of his family is eagerly awaiting his arrival, please nudge them over here!

Not strictly game related, but as two of your admin team are participating, I'm going to be shameless about promoting our Potter-themed event. :-)

I'm coming out of my self-enforced Book Seven seclusion to announce that it's that time of year again. For the fifth year, I shall be participating in the annual Blogathon on July 28, 2007. Heaps of apologies for the short notice. Most of you know it's been a really busy last three months for me. If it's too short notice I totally understand.

This year, we will again be blogging for the Association for International Cancer Research.

Why AICR? Because last year JL made a promise that if the Divine saw fit to bring her mother out of surgery for a suspected malignant lump safely, during Blogathon, she would blog for a cure.

Last year, I kept my promise. This year, I decided I wanted to continue that promise.

Piggy backing on the recent book release, adriannevandal and I are going to be immersed in fandom for the event. During the course of 24 hours, we will post one Harry Potter related post every 30 minutes. Posts may be on the books, the movies, the podcasts, fic, art, whatever. We're not picky and we have plenty to say! wink

It wouldn't be a successful blogathon without our sponsors, after all. So, besides making it all about doing a good thing, we want to say 'thank you' for continuing to support us. As I am still slowly putting together to packages for last year's sponsors, these thank you's will be small. Each person who sponsors us for this event may challenge us with one question/topic to discuss during our 49 posts. Anything goes, as long as it's Potter related. In addition, anyone who sponsors us for $15.00 or more will get their choice of one of the following:

1. A banner for your site/blog, your choice of theme
2. Five icons for the themes/HP ships of your choice
3. A 100-500 word drabble, any rating, any HP pairing, prompt of your choice

So, how do I sponsor you, I hear you asking? Why, that's easy. Just click the button below to be taken to the form to sponsor this site.

"But, JL! I don't want to sign up for an account, can't I just give you the funds?"

Well, no, actually. As a participant I'm not allowed to handle the money. But, if you really don't want to sign up at the site, send me an email with your name and pledged amount and I can either forward you the link to donate at the end of the 'thon or sign up for a proxy sponsorship on your behalf to forward you the information.

Then, on July 28, at 6am PDT, sit back and watch the fun at Imagine This!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled Fandom squeeage to which I will return on Tuesday after my copy of book seven arrives.

fiery_inception and the release of Deathly Hollows

After the release of Deathly Hollows, fiery_inception will continue to be a game which is compliant with the events through Halfblood Prince and AU after. Muns of characters who die/get married, etc., in the book will not have to alter existing story lines to match Canon.

We will, however, continue to honour canon as much as possible and will eagerly welcome Deathly Hollows as a useful reference and resource for general wizarding-world information.

SPOILER POLICY:

As indicated by a poll of our players, we will have a four-week no-spoiler rule throughout all game-related communities and character journals. For four weeks, until August 17th, absolutely no Deathly Hollows information can be included in any in-character or out of character thread, post, journal entry or new-character applications.

We will not close the game for any length of time. Those who wish to be able to play until they are able to read the book ought to be free to come here and play without fear of being spoiled.

Posts that will be allowed would be something very general and non-spoilerish, such as a post in OoC that says something like, "I've just read the book and really want to talk about it - ping me!"

Our Public communities - Lurkers, Fluff and Smut and the Application community are now on Moderated status through our no-spoiler period. We will continue to entertain applications, but new applicants must abide by the non-spoiler policy.

Love you all, and see you on the other side!

Instructions and information:Collapse )

Minerva entered the rather austere room with her usual efficiency, making her seem, as always, a bit on the cool and haughty side of 'friendly'. She was followed by an unlikely quartet which included her Defence Professor, her Potions Master... and the Weasley twins. With a careless flick of her wand, five identical and slightly uncomfortable looking armchairs appeared at the head of the room, all in identical tartan upholstery over the limited padding.

"Do sit down, boys," she said to all four men, waving a hand toward the chairs. She easily ignored the scowl of at least one of the older men who clearly disliked being classified as a 'boy' in the same tone as the younger men were addressed. The Headmistress gave no notice of the glower.

Seating herself regally in the centre chair with the twins to one side and the professors to the other, she looked out over the curious room of onlookers.

"Good day to you," she said, folding her hands primly over her lap. "I understand you have some questions. Our time is limited, as you might comprehend considering N.E.W.T. exams are just finishing and we must prepare the students to leave for the summer holidays for us here at the school, and the Weasley boys, well, they are having some issues at their various shops which need attention.

"Nonetheless, we are quite willing to speak with you. If you wish to see someone not currently present, one of the boys will go and fetch them for you."

A snort from Snape caused her to pause and return his eye-roll with a frown of her own. He had rather objected to being her 'fetch and carry boy', but he regained control of himself with gratifying alacrity. There was considerable advantage to having taught them since they were eleven years old.

"As I was saying, please feel free to ask any questions which might occur to you. A great deal has occurred here, lately, which might naturally inspire curiosity."

A character visit was to be held this weekend. However, as often happens in games of this size/duration, we have had some Muns leave us related to real-life-timing changes and the like.

In lieu of the previously scheduled Luna question-and-answer session, we will be hosting a general game-wide question and answer period. This will be *ahem* moderated, in-character, by Professor Snape, Professor Lupin, Headmistress McGonagall, and Mr Fred and Mr George Weasley, these being the primary admin-guided characters. However, questions may be asked of ANY character in the game. The above mentioned characters will see to it that the questioned-character knows of the question and answers in a timely manner.

Please be aware that several Muns are heading out on vacations and the like here these next two weeks as well, so there may be a delay in the response time.

As a reminder, here are a few guidelines we would ask of all participants:

- Please be respectful of each other, both cast and watchers.
- Please remember that the thoughts and opinions expressed by those who are participating IN character are not necessarily the same as those of the player.
- Though the game itself is an adult game, this community is not. Please keep language and descriptions of actions to a PG rating. Just because it's an adult game does not mean everyone here is comfortable reading such material.
- For this session - please indicate in the subject-line of your question to whom your question is addressed, whether one character or several.
- Most importantly, HAVE FUN.

Deirdre had never suffered from stage fright.

Then again, she'd never had much occasion to be on a stage.

Of course, she'd had the board exams at the end of graduate school, facing down an auditorium full of the best researchers, therapists, and clinicians in the field. And there were the weekly staff meetings at The Ministry and St. Mungo's, in which she was expected to brief the entire psychiatric staff on the new projects, priorities, and policies. But there had never been anything like this. She'd never come close to bearing her soul on a pedestal before all her friends, enemies, and the rest of the unfeeling masses.

The idea that she was potentially flaying open everything she had so militantly guarded over the course of her meticulous life was unsettling to say the least. This uncertainty--and certain danger--was the very reason she had--until recently--only allowed herself sex without the relationships, acquiantance without the friendship.

However, she had faith in the idiocy of the audience: she doubted they would ask the right questions.

At least, that was what she told herself was the case.

She'd done her best to remain professional, despite the suggestions from the vague coordinators that she wear casual, approachable attire to combat her allegedly severe personality. Dr. Burke wore one of her more well-loved black blazers and matching slacks with a grey silk blouse. In her opinion, she deserved a medal for putting her hair partway down.

Her chair was not a lavish one--but it kept her back straight and prim. She crossed her legs, and used her gray-green eyes to address the crowd, which was turned dark and amorphous from her point of view, focused in the lights of the stage.

"Good evening. My name is Dr. Burke, and I suspect you all know why it is I'm here, so I'd appreciate it if we could just step right forward. I'll answer your questions in the order they are asked."

Oi! My apologies to all, especially dear Deirdre. I totally fell down on announcing that

DEIRDRE BURKE

will be visiting the forum this weekend to answer all your questions.

Real Life and LiveJournal kerflauffles kneecapped my good intentions with this one. I'm sorry!
