Unsurprisingly, Ciarán was always dressed perfectly for whatever occasion at which he happened to be making an appearance. Furthermore, he never agonized over his decision. He always knew, instinctively, the perfect cut, style, and degree of formality appropriate for the event. He didn't take too much pride in the talent, oddly enough, as he knew it was something he had never had to work at to master.

This occasion was doubly strange, then:

First, the very idea of the thing was extraordinary. The hoi polloi would have their crack at him, as usual, with the typical mixture of envy, curiosity, lust, disgust, and admiration. That he was accustomed to. However, there was something added here: he would answer. Everything. In a usual setting, he would have been a different degree of honest--truthful, but in the idea that there was a wealth of hidden meanings in each of his words.

Secondly, he paused before choosing his outfit!

But he was still unassailably, irritatingly calm, as though his figure had been cast in molten glass in a hellish reinterpretation of the Greek classics: sinewy, beautiful, but sickening and threatening, with only his eyes bright.

The stage was cute, as though it was attempting to be dramatic for him in the absence of any theatricalities. Ciarán looked lovely, and had an air of approachability about him in his the finest mohair and fitted denims. The tiniest twitch of his wrist saw the materialization of a luxurious armchair of brown Italian leather, with curling, minimal embellishments along the armrests. He sat. He smiled. So many lovely little ducklings. He leaned forward fractionally.

"Good evening, all. I do hope you'll be as forthcoming here with all your darkest little desires as I plan to be--that is, completely." His voice, British tinged with a European umbrage.

"Otherwise, what use would as unique a forum as this be?"

Ciarán flexed his fingers experimentally, and settled back into his chair. He hoped that an opportunity for complete candor would shake the banality from these proceedings. He was already feeling a bit sleepy!

While they collectively worked up the courage to ask the first question, Mr. Malone busied himself with thoughts of what he could do in a forum like this, in which no one could remember anything outside the hall. What fun could be had with tea and knives....Montague was right. He worried about his image too much.

The first character visit seems to have gone very well. Thank you all for making it such a good start. If you missed chatting with Montague Morsus for any reason, you can still get in on the action here: http://community.livejournal.com/fi_lurkers/11787.html

The second character visit weekend is coming up. As a reminder, here are a few guidelines we would ask of all participants:

- Please be respectful of each other, both cast and watchers.
- Please remember that the thoughts and opinions expressed by those who are participating IN character are not necessarily the same as those of the player.
- Though the game itself is an adult game, this community is not. Please keep language and descriptions of actions to a PG rating. Just because it's an adult game does not mean everyone here is comfortable reading such material.
- Most importantly, HAVE FUN.

Coming up this weekend: CIARAN MALONE

Note: These events are inspired by similar events at the snark_watch community for watchers of the snark_n_bark RPG. The admin team would like to extend their thanks to the mod team of SnB for so graciously allowing us to borrow their idea.

If there were still some innocent souls untainted by attainment of one Montague Morsus character, they were bound to be impressed by his appearance on the stage. The whole setting and everything was, of course, a very surreal happenstance in and of itself-- but the main actor for that event was more than willing to acquiesce to the general will, if only for the sheer amusement it promised him amidst the pitch-black boredom of his latest days...

To start off, he appeared sucking on a cigarette sensually, already seated in an elegant armchair that appeared seemingly (to the aforementioned untainted souls) out of nowhere. (The other, more experienced, would probably realize everything was well-prepared beforehand by Montague's nearly anal-retentive attention to detail.)

Silence filled the room for an unidentified period of time, until he satisfied himself (and probably those watching him) and flicked the cigarette into the black nothingness behind him. (Which was the silky curtain.)

"Montague Morsus at your service," he said with a chill smile, crossing legs. "One in a lifetime opportunity for all you, how cute. Use it wisely-- I actually intend to answer all kinds of questions."

Dearest lurkers, readers, watchers, and assorted other visitors who might happen by,

We, the players and characters of fiery_inception would like to announce a new series of special events.

Over the next several months, we will be bringing you the chance to get to know a member of our cast on a more personal level. Every other week, a different character will spend the weekend with you, answer your questions, tell you about themselves, and in general be there to interact with all of you on a level not possible in game. :-)

There are a few guidelines we would ask of all participants:

- Please be respectful of each other, both cast and watchers.
- Please remember that the thoughts and opinions expressed by those who are participating IN character are not necessarily the same as those of the player.
- Though the game itself is an adult game, this community is not. Please keep language and descriptions of actions to a PG rating. Just because it's an adult game does not mean everyone here is comfortable reading such material.
- Most importantly, HAVE FUN.

Coming up this weekend: MONTAGUE MORSUS

Ok, so I know one-shot posts sometimes get lost in the general gameyness but this one -

Moving on is a simple thing

God it's so beautiful. So simple and unaffected and just completely right. Nilah's an amazing player and her one-shots are always so powerful but this one really left me breathless.

Read it. Yes, that is an order.

Now that the initial flurry of Anniversary posting has subsided, it is my pleasure to renew the monthly Thread Rec posts with a 'special edition' for the First Anniversary of Fiery Inception.

What's so special about this edition? Well, ladies and gents, this is to be the monster of all thread rec posts. For this edition, I come to you, not asking for your favorite threads of the month, but your favorite threads ever. It's been a fantastic first year for this game. From rebuilding to wanton vandalism, feuds to love affairs, the plotlines have remained varied and on-going. There are plots in-play now that have their roots in threads posted during the first week of gameplay.

So, for this edition of the Thread Recs Posting, we invite you to go back through the last year and pick out your favorite moments, the threads that define Fiery Inception when you talk about it with others, the stories that have stayed with you. They can be your own threads, threads you just couldn't help reading, threads from last week, last month, last Spring. It's time to break out those bookmarks and memories y'all keep talking about keeping in past editions and remind us of all the good stuff we've shared as writers and readers.

What's in a rec? Give us the title of the thread and link us to the thread so we can read it ourselves. Tell us who's in the thread and what it's rated. Then, tell us what you liked about it, what drew you in, what your favorite line was, whatever the reason was that you included this thread on your list. There's no limit to the number of threads you may rec. You may rec your own threads or someone else's.

Thank you all for a fabulous first year and a great start on the second one!

Hey everybody! First off, as this is my very first post in the lurker community (perhaps we players are the biggest lurkers of all, yes?), I figure I should properly introduce myself.

HI! I'm Marie, 19 years of age, and I play this sexy, charming, homicidal fashion designer here, as well as Dr. Deirdre Burke (deirdre_ivy). At any rate, I was crazy shocked when I found out people read this game--and crazy pleased! It means so much that people actually enjoy, to any extent, the stuff going on here [and news for you: get those applications in now!].

And, as any good first-timer ought to do, I come bearing gifts!Collapse )

Whew!!
Again, enjoy reading and listening! And if anyone wants to hear a bit more Pulp, just let me know!
